Project: A highly visible direction indicator module used on Access Control Gates

When a leading manufacturer of entry access equipment developed a prestigious new gate, they approached us to add the finishing touch.

They required an electronic indicator module which would complement the extremely high standard of their new product.

Their specification was demanding, and only the best design would meet their stringent requirements. The unit would need to be very small, and yet clearly visible from 50 metres away. It would need to operate reliably for long periods in a demanding environment, and be easy to maintain.

Our solution involved using high intensity LED chips connected in a unique pattern, using surface mount techniques.

The use of two vivid colours made the pictograms stand out at the required distance.

The product has sold well. It now features in hundreds of installations worldwide, and has proven to meet or exceed all its design specifications.
